History

Paradox Software was founded by 3 former medalists of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI - - the world's premier programming competition), in 2004. The first project, a Sinhala search engine went on to win the best E-Society award as well as the bronze award in the Research and Development category of the National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA).

After turning on to full time software development, Paradox Software gradually gravitated towards working on website development until this has become the area of specialization of the company.

Paradox Software has grown from strength to strength, and at the moment consists of 10 employees.



Profiles

Nayana Somaratna

Nayana is a former gold and bronze medalist at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), the premier programming competition in the world.

Although his undergraduate studies were in medicine, at the University of Kelaniya, he also took the opportunity to complete an external degree in IT at the University of Colombo simultaneously. He has been with Paradox since it's conception and is also the Chief trainer for the Sri Lankan Informatics Olympiad.

Sandaruwan Gunthilake

Sandaruwan is a former double bronze medalist at the IOI. After doing a stint at Ulteo systems, where he worked on virtual online systems, he is now a valued member of Paradox. He also has contributed to numerous open source projects.

His undergraduate studies were at the University of Westminister.

Chethiya Abeysinghe

Chethiya is a silver and five time bronze medalist at the IOI. After becoming the 30th in Sri Lanka at the GCE A/Ls, he went on to do undergraduate studies at the University of Moratuwa (electronics stream).

Keshan Dayarathne

Keshan previously worked at MAS systems on very large and complex SAP based applications while at the same time moonlighting doing design work. His education was at the University of Westminister.
